random thoughts

As I was pulling out of our driveway tonight, little nael blurted out, "joey...van" (whenever we're in LA we always ride in Joey's van) for no apparent reason and even said it several times until I acknowledged her.
It seems like little nael has all these random thoughts running through her head. Every now and then little nael will just blurt out something from the past and will keep repeating it until I recount her memory with her. This morning, she pointed out to her white bear on the very topshelf of her bookcase and said "Kisha" to which I responded that yes, the bear was a present from Kisha, then she would point to her wooden giraffe on the wall shelf and say "Sarah" and again, I responded that the giraffe was a present from Tita Sarah.

Father's Day

Snowboarder and little nael spent the morning together swimming at the community outdoor pool. I had bought her a new swimsuit, a bikini, which is a washable swim diaper all-in-one but when we tried to put it on her, she cried and got upset! She's gone swimming so many times already that she's used to wearing a Dora swim diaper and her old one piece suit from last summer. She kept on saying "Dora, Dora" and was pointing to her old swimsuit. She always associated her Dora diaper and her suit to swimming and I think that she didn't think we were going swimming by wearing the new swimsuit. We were finally able to convince her that we were still going swimming and to keep her bikini on. We even stood her infront of a mirror just so she could see how cute she looked!!!
So off we went to the pool with her bucket and a toy seahorse...Snowboarder and little nael hung out in the big pool first, and little nael splashed in the water, kicked her legs and even went underwater a few times! Snowboarder was trying to teach little nael how to dog paddle and so every now and then, snowboarder would let go of little nael and she would try as hard as she could. Little nael would end up underwater but she wasn't scared at all...she'd look up at snowboarder from underwater then snowboarder would grab her.
Then I took her to the kiddie pool with her bucket and toy seahorse where she played with toys in the pool and again, splashed in the water. We were the only ones there so she had the pool all to herself.
She eventually went back to the big pool with snowboarder but on our way out, we stopped at the kiddie pool again where she played one last time with the toys.
